Mark Weber

Mark Weber

Mark A. Weber has worked his entire career to help families tax efficiently transfer their wealth upon death to their heirs. In his book, A Spectrum of Legacies, he describes how families can prepare their heirs to be responsible stewards of the wealth they will eventually receive

Inspired by an encounter with Warren Buffett, he created the Omaha Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy Study Group program, hosted by the Omaha Community Foundation. Mark has moderated classes of attorneys, accountants, financial planners and gift planners for more than a decade. More than 150 professional advisors and charitable gift planners have earned the CAP® designation upon completing the program. Collectively, these advisors have helped facilitate billions of dollars in charitable gifts and bequests. Graduates of the program are changing the estate planning culture and making Omaha a more generous community.

Mark's connection to United Way of the Midlands (UWM) began when he enrolled in the UWM Endowment Society in 1991 — with a designation in his will that UWM receives $100,000 from his estate upon his death — and that UWM invests $5,000/year into programs benefitting those in need in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro. Through this gift, he hopes to instill in his children, and others, the need to help others less fortunate in our community.
